The Foothold

Psalms 73:1‭-‬2  Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.  But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.

Praise God. The psalmist pointed out something that almost made him to loose his foothold. That thing is envy for the ungodly.

For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Psalms 73:3

The things happening now happened then too, when it seems things are getting well for the unrighteous.

The psalmist said They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.  They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills.

Psalms 73:4‭-5

And when he looked at these he became envious of them.

Envy means a desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable thing belonging to (someone else).

That means he wished to acquire what the unrighteous had.

We do this a lot these days,we long to be like someone even when we know their ways are not right with God.

Watch out so your feet will not slipped and you will not loose your foothold.

The Lord is searching for people with pure heart in this last days to make leaders, not envious people that aren’t contented.
