Luke 24:16 But God kept them from recognizing Him.
Praise God. An incident took place which was unbelievable to them, Christ resurrection kept all His disciples talking.
That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem discussing about the just happenings and Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them but they didn’t recognize Him, to some of us that’s how angels have visited us but we treated them wrongly because we did not recognize them, I pray the Lord help us with His discerning spirit.
Our verse of today says “ But God kept them from recognizing Him. Luke 24:16”.
This brings me to a conclusion that it is only God that can grant or give humans understanding which means that humans should not boast of the Certificate of philosophy, school of thought etc but only thank God for giving them understanding.
While Jesus Christ walked and discussed with them they still didn’t recognize Him or understand who He was, not until when He decided to give them understanding “Luke 24:44-45 Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
Beloved let no man brag about his/her scriptural or general understanding and level in life but rather be humble and give all praise to God Almighty.
